How to Disable Avast Popups on Windows?- [2021]

There are situations when you may need to disable Avast Antivirus to install applications or check if Avast is causing network problems.

There are many ways to disable Avast popups, depending on what you are trying to verify. It is possible to partially disable Avast by disabling human protection or simply disabling the program entirely.


How to Turn Off Avast Notifications on Temporarily?

Suppose you need to verify the web application. In that case, you can only disable Avast protection for Internet protection, but enable the rest of the security so that you can stay safe while learning. Then select Core Shields to see if the ones they protect are reinforced.

  • In the Core Shields window, select the green check box next to a defence type to disable that person's, Avast Shield.
  • You will see a pop-up window asking you to confirm that you want to disable the appropriate protection. Select the interval during which you want to disable Avast for this protection temporarily.
  • An additional warning window will appear asking if you want to continue disabling Avast with this specific protection. Just select OK to confirm.
  • After verification, you will understand that the status of this shield is OFF.
  • Today you can start your tests. Once done, you can go back to the Avast Shields screen and select the OFF button to re-enable this protection.


How to Remove Avast by Deactivating All Covers

If you are not sure which protection you want to disable, you can completely disable Avast by enabling all covers at once.

This is especially beneficial when you have tried to test with a permitted shield but are still having trouble.

To completely disable Avast:

  1. Right-click on the orange Avast icon in the system tray and place Avast Protect Driver. Here you can decide when you want Avast to be completely deactivated.
  2. As soon as you select the period of time you want security to be disabled; You will see a pop-up window asking you to confirm your choice. Select OK to finish.
  3. You can confirm that Avast is truly disabled by left-clicking the orange Avast icon to launch the Avast user interface. You should see a state where all Avast security is disabled.
  4. If you want to strengthen Avast security, you can select the Solution button to re-enable all protection.

Avast only allows you to disable certain security features, but none of the menus will allow you to close or exit the program completely.



How to Stop Avast Antivirus?

Even if you try to delete an Avast task from Task Manager, you will see an error.

However, it is possible to disable this feature so that Avast can be disabled and closed. 

  • Select Menu, then select Settings from the drop-down list.
  • From the Preferences menu, select General from the left sidebar and Troubleshooting from the submenu. 
  • This may disable all Avast self-defence attributes to remove Avast task.
  • You will be asked to confirm that you need to shut down. Click OK to confirm.
  • Then click on the Windows taskbar and select Task Manager to start Task Manager.
  • In Task Manager, select the Processes tab. Scroll down to Avast Antivirus activity, right-click and select End Run. Repeat this procedure for any other running tasks that start with "Avast".
  • The job will disappear without an error or warning message. This means that Avast is no longer running.


How to Uninstall Avast Antivirus?

If you are considering installing other antivirus software and want to disable Avast completely, with that in mind, you can do so as you would any additional application.

But before you can do this, you need to follow the exact same procedure above to disable the Enable Self-Defense attribute in Avast settings.

Once deactivated, Avast can be uninstalled.

  • From the Control Panel, select Programs and Attributes.
  • In the Applications and Features section, scroll through the list to find and select Avast Free Antivirus. Then select Uninstall to start the uninstall procedure.
  • You will notice a pop-up window with various options.
  • This may establish an uninstall procedure and Avast will likely be completely removed from your PC.
